Leading property consultants, CKD Galbraith, have been instructed to handle the sale of three of the most energy efficient contemporary houses available at Relugas in the Scottish Highlands.
Registered Super ‘E’ homes by the Canadian Government*, the three architect designed houses will be entirely environmentally friendly and finished to the highest contemporary standard using the most sophisticated building and construction technologies available.
Recognised as being a world leader in terms of performance, quality and affordability, the Super ‘E’ trademark is independently audited to ensure that each house complies with exacting building standards which greatly exceed normal building regulations. The result is increased comfort, air quality, durability, energy efficiency and a reduced impact on the environment.
On-going running costs are reduced due to the installation of a Swedish heat exhaust pump and ventilation system rather than a general boiler and thus no gas or oil is required. This system has also resulted in an improvement in air quality within the home due to air tight insulation and construction and additionally allows for the transfer of heat from one area to another.
Each house boasts advanced wall insulation offering superior rain, moisture and draft control and enhanced noise reduction, plus new window technologies resulting in more natural light and reduced heating costs. Additional benefits include underfloor heating, solid oak flooring, solid oak doors, Laufen bathrooms, Siemens kitchen appliances and top quality interior finishes.
Neil Cameron, who is handling the sale for CKD Galbraith said: “This is a very exciting project and is the first ever publicly marketed development of Super ‘E’ homes in the North of Scotland. The houses are being built to the highest possible eco-friendly standard and truly offer a superior living environment. The rural setting of Relugas was chosen for its tranquil and environmentally friendly offerings that support the whole ‘E’ ethos.
“This development is scheduled for completion at the beginning of 2008 and the houses are expected to generate a lot of interest from environmentally conscious home owners.”
The homes offer extensive family living accommodation comprising four double bedrooms, three bathrooms, large hall, living room and dining room with vaulted ceilings, utility room and family sized kitchen. Outside there is a generous fenced-off garden extending to 0.2 acres with an external covered veranda and decking area and a single garage.
Relugas is a small attractive hamlet in the Moray countryside only eight miles from Forres and 31miles from the city of Inverness. The area is steeped in Scottish history and is home to one of the oldest forests in Scotland, Darnaway Forest, which is designated an Important Bird Area and a Special Protected Area.
The houses are available now for a fixed sum of £330,000 each.
