ZEH Technologies Announces the Construction of the 'Neo Zero Energy Homes'

Toronto's ZEH Technologies Inc. announces a plan to build one of Canada's most innovative and leading edge Net-Zero Energy Homes in the small town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON.

Located 25 kilometers north of Toronto with a population of only 25,000, Whitchurch-Stouffville is a small community in a unique country setting consisting of farmland, ravines, lakes, forests and conservation areas. This quaint little town that combines both urban conveniences with rural and agricultural lifestyles proclaims to offer a "Country lifestyle, close to the city".

Ironically, this charmingly 'normal' Canadian town is the perfect companion for the exciting Neo Zero Energy Home, which will contain the most innovative, modern and environmentally friendly construction technologies, in what looks and feels like a 'normal' home. The concept behind the Neo Zero Energy Home, is to illustrate that leading-edge, green and environmentally friendly construction technologies can be used realistically in today's custom homes.

Like most Zero Energy Homes, the Neo Zero Energy Home will make use of the standard principles used to reduce energy consumption including: design and orientation, quality windows and doors, high insulation R-value, airtight construction, tankless water heaters, radiant floor heating and energy efficient appliances. The key difference between the Neo Zero Energy Home and other Zero Energy Homes is that the Neo Zero Energy Home will go one step further and use new technologies which will make the home even more energy efficient and green!

To set the bar even higher, ZEH Technologies Inc. will make use of concrete thermal mass by using Insulated Concrete Forms from Amvic Building System (www.amvicsystem.com) as well as a brand new type of geothermal equipment from REHAU (www.rehau.com), which is scheduled be released to the market in February 2008.

The Neo Zero Energy Home is expected break ground in April 2008 and to be completed in September 2008. Press and V.I.P. tours will be scheduled in October during the Construct Canada 2008 tradeshow.
