Nick Gammage Appointed as New Director of Communications at WRAP

Nick Gammage has been appointed as the new Director of Communications at WRAP (the Waste and Resources Action Programme), replacing Gareth Lloyd who left earlier in the year to join the BBC.

Nick brings broad communications experience from the public and private sectors to the WRAP Executive team. Having begun his career as a newspaper journalist, he held several senior communications posts in Whitehall before becoming Director of Communications at the telecoms regulator OFTEL.

In recent years, Nick has served as Director of Communications for the Consumers’ Association, the London Stock Exchange, and most recently in the City for Lloyd’s insurance market, where he set up a communications operation in the United States and helped steer the market through the aftermath of the worst hurricane season on record which led to record claims.

WRAP Chief Executive Dr Liz Goodwin said: “I warmly welcome Nick to WRAP and look forward to working with him as waste reduction, recycling and climate change continue to rise up the political and media agenda.”

Nick Gammage said: “WRAP is at the forefront of the drive to tackle climate change through its resource efficiency agenda. There are ambitious plans to build on its success and the chance to lead their communications work as part of a dynamic leadership team is very exciting.”

Nick is married with three children and lives in Buckinghamshire. His interests include golf and book collecting.

Nick begins work at WRAP’s Banbury headquarters on Monday 17th September 2007.
