Rockwool for Heathrow

The world's leading manufacturer of stone wool insulation, Rockwool, has received a large order to supply various high performance insulation products for the new terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.

The half a million pound order includes RW3 and RW5 slab, Hardrock and Cladding Roll for the roof. The Rockwool materials were chosen for their unique thermal, acoustic and fire insulation properties. The roof is being constructed by Hathaway Roofing Ltd with large structural panels being pre-fabricated and then simply craned into place. Only the final layer of insulation and the weatherproof top-sheet are installed on site.
