Van Nuys Airport Wins Design and Architectural Excellence Award

The Los Angeles Business Council (LABC) recently awarded Van Nuys Airport (VNY) FlyAway Terminal the Annual Los Angeles Architectural Award in the Public Use Industrial Category. This award of excellence honors outstanding architecture and design projects that significantly enhance the Los Angeles community's urban environment. VNY FlyAway Terminal is the first full-service remote airport terminal in the United States to create a gateway to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which leads to a positive passenger experience. VNY FlyAway Terminal award recipients included Architect DMJM Design, Contractor Tutor-Saliba and Owner Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).

The Awards Program is the only event of its kind that recognizes entire project teams (architects, contractors and developers) for their outstanding architectural designs in Los Angeles. Winners are selected by a nine-member panel of highly distinguished architects, contractors and designers. The selection process requires the project location is within Los Angeles County.

Van Nuys Airport is one of four airports owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles under a system of airports, LAWA. The world's busiest general aviation airport, VNY serves as a valued San Fernando Valley resource, providing ongoing leadership in general aviation, business and community service.
