Raychem self-regulating electric underfloor heating has been installed to heat the Bentley Drivers Club’s (BDC) new clubhouse and headquarters at Wroxton, near Banbury. Jointing Technologies, a Tyco Thermal Controls’ distributor partner, was commissioned to design and install the underfloor heating system and controls by M & E contractor, Scion Technical Services.
Raychem electric underfloor heating systems are manufactured by Tyco Thermal Controls and provide versatile, effective and energy-efficient heating solutions suitable for use under all traditional floor surfaces. Self-regulating cable technology provides zone power control, sensing other sources of heat and automatically adjusting output to deliver heat only where it is needed. It is also widely recognised as the optimum solution for use under wooden floors as its inherent properties mean it cannot overheat. Raychem high reliability systems are ideal for new build or renovation projects and complete systems are supported by a 12 year manufacturer’s triple warranty.
Built by Banbury-based construction company Bluestone, the new 6,000sq.ft. BDC clubhouse has a museum, a shop selling Bentley marque regalia, offices, members reception and also offers an excellent venue for Club events and functions. In addition to providing clubhouse facilities for BDC members, the building is also home to the W.O. Bentley Memorial Foundation – a registered charity devoted to the work and legacy of W.O. Bentley.
