Award winning environmental charity, BioRegional Development Group, are launching a new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training course within their education centre at the BedZED eco-village in south London. The launch event, with exciting seminars from experts in their fields of sustainable development, will cover the topical issue of zero carbon homes. Developers, planners, architects and representatives from local and central government are attending the launch on the 29th of June to discover BioRegional’s solutions for sustainability and to learn more about how zero carbon homes can be delivered.
Gordon Brown announced: “Within 10 years every new home will be a zero carbon home, and we will be the first country to make this commitment.”
This training course will equip participants with the knowledge they need to deliver zero carbon homes. The innovative new training will cover the key areas of energy efficiency and generation for single dwellings and communities and for new builds as well as existing housing stock. The one-day CPD will feature an introductory talk from Sue Riddlestone, founder and director of BioRegional, as well as seminars from Chani Leahong, sustainable development specialist at Fulcrum Consulting and Simon Corbey, sustainability consultant in the built environment. In addition to this there will be the unique opportunity for attendees to have their questions answered by members of the expert panel.
BioRegional are development partners in BedZED, the Peabody Trust’s award winning urban eco-village in south London, and as such, are uniquely placed to offer this training. With zero carbon housing becoming a rapidly expanding area of policy and industry, BioRegional will be holding events on the subject throughout the year.
