Miller Regeneration Preferred Developer for New Homes in Pendle

Just weeks after a successful tender for the Transforming Tower Hill contract in Kirkby, Miller Regeneration has been named as the preferred developer partner for a large scheme of new homes in Pendle, Lancashire.

The Brierfield Canal Corridor Project has been awarded to the newly established urban renewal division of Miller Homes and is the third scheme to be added to its portfolio.

It is intended the prestigious development - Pendle's first major new housing project under the current Elevate Housing Market Renewal initiative - will set a benchmark for future Housing Market Renewal projects across East Lancashire.

The announcement was welcomed by Councillor Tony Greaves, Pendle Council's Executive Member for Housing Market Renewal, who said: "This new development will kick start the revitalisation of Brierfield. It will be a place where people will be proud to live and visit. It will also provide an opportunity to show how it's possible to build new and modern homes, whilst respecting the area's distinctive canalside location."

The development will play a key role in the future regeneration of the borough, revitalising the local housing market and acting as a catalyst for future investment in the town.

Miller Regeneration will work with a team which includes Housing Pendle, Twin Valley Homes, KKA architects of Liverpool, specialist community engagement consultants and landscape architects.

Brierfield is a small town located between Nelson and Burnley. As part of the project Miller Regeneration will be responsible for building 103 new homes across two sites, which are spread over 4.2 acres.

The two sites, off Clitheroe Road, will include canalside apartments, five bedroom villas, mews style houses and bungalows. A small element of affordable housing - up to 20 homes - will also be provided for those affected by demolition.

Mike Lewis, managing director of Miller Regeneration, said: "Our aim is to bring new life into Pendle. The Brierfield Canal Corridor Project is another fantastic acquisition for us and we are delighted to have been chosen as the preferred developer partner.

"We believe that the new homes we are proposing will make a positive contribution in revitalizing the local housing market and provide high quality new homes built to modern standards."

Miller Regeneration and team members will be working closely with the local community, including local residents affected by demolition who wish to stay and the residents in the adjoining housing areas.
