BRE Scotland To Play A Major Role In The New Scottish Construction Innovation And Ecellence Centre

BRE Scotland is to play a major role in the new Scottish Construction Innovation and Excellence Centre recently announced by the Scottish Executive. BRE Scotland is part of the winning consortia led by CIRIA with partners the University of Dundee, Glasgow Caledonian University and Building Software Limited. The Centre will help the Scottish construction industry to modernise and also act as a platform for sharing information, knowledge and best practice.

Speaking at the Scottish Construction Forum’s annual conference in Perth last November, Deputy Minister for Enterprise Allan Wilson commented “I am delighted to see that Scottish Enterprise has agreed this significant project. It should be up and running early in the summer of 2007; being in a self-sustaining position by 2011”.

Jonathan Fair, Director of BRE Scotland said “We are delighted to be playing such a key role in this important initiative for the Scottish construction sector. BRE Scotland’s activities within the Centre will be extensive, ranging from running a ‘one stop’ shop providing technical advice and support from our headquarters in East Kilbride, through to delivery of the Edinburgh Regional Node that will work closely with regional construction improvement clubs which are to be developed under the initiative.”
