Veteran coatings developer D. C. Foster introduces a new evaluation service for bathtub refinishing and tile refinishing companies. This evaluation service was established by Foster for the purpose of creating a data base of refinishing companies which meet materials and process standards for the bathtub refinishing industry.
Foster said that the launch of the new service was driven by a steady stream of United States and European consumer requests for information and referrals to reliable refinishing companies.
The bathtub and tile refinishing industry is unregulated and there are 1000 to 2000 companies in the United States that offer these services.
Foster said consumers who are considering spending $300.00 to $500.00 to refinish their tub want to know which processes really work and who they should choose to perform the job.
The evaluation service establishes whether or not a company has a refinishing process that works. Each component of a refinishing company's materials and methods are tested and must meet or exceed the refinishing standard for adhesion, moisture resistance, stain resistance, chemical resistance and wear characteristics before they will be listed in the data base.
Although there is a charge to the bathtub refinishing company for the evaluation of it's products the fee does not guarantee the company's inclusion in the database.
