UK Hospital Regeneration Gets It's Preferred Developer

National regeneration agency, English Partnerships today announced that it has selected Bellway Homes as its preferred development partner to regenerate the former St Margaret’s Hospital site in Epping, Essex.

The regeneration of the 5.56 ha site, will provide around 320 homes, 30 per cent of which will be for affordable sale or rent. The homes will be built to high environmental standards, achieving an Ecohomes rating of ‘very good’.

John Lewis, Regional Director for English Partnerships said, “In partnership with Bellway we will make sure that St Margaret’s Hospital, which has served the community for so many years, will also leave a valuable legacy for future generations.”

“It is fantastic to see redundant hospital sites such as this being regenerated and creating space for much needed housing.”

Ian Jeffrey, managing director of Bellway Homes (Essex) said, “Our aim is to achieve a strong and sustainable community, which will grow in stature. The regeneration of St Margaret’s will unlock value by returning a redundant site to community use and act as a catalyst creating community benefits and enhanced value. We are all excited by the opportunities and look forward to a successful partnership.”
