Old Country Roofing (OCR), Northern California's largest roofing company, announced today that they have signed agreements with Xantrex Technology Inc. and Fat Spaniel Technologies (FST) to offer a comprehensive solar energy conversion and monitoring solution to OCR's more than 100 homebuilding customers throughout Central and Northern California.
Old Country Roofing will feature innovative Xantrex GT Series Grid Tie Solar Inverters, which provide best-in-class efficiency and energy harvest, to convert electricity produced by solar installations from DC to AC power for usage in the home, as well as net-metering of surplus electricity into the power grid.
"We are pleased to be working with Xantrex and their leading-edge inverters for our new solar installations for homebuilders and homeowners. Their new generation of high-quality inverters is key to converting energy from solar modules into usable electricity in the home," said Aaron Nitzkin, Vice President of Solar Operations at Old Country Roofing.
"Old Country Roofing is on the cutting edge of bringing solar into the mainstream through production builders," said John Wallace, Chief Executive Officer of Xantrex. "We are pleased to partner with them in this exciting new channel and supply our GT series inverters for residential installations."
Old Country Roofing also announced today they have signed an agreement with FST to provide real-time monitoring of their solar installations via the Internet.
"Our relationship with Fat Spaniel Technologies will enable us to offer Internet monitoring of new solar energy installations to homebuilders and homebuyers so they can see the energy savings from their solar roofs," said Nitzkin. "We've also found that our solar customers enjoy checking on the status and output of their systems - they can literally watch while they save money on energy costs. "
"A solar roof is an incredible asset for a new home, and monitoring is the best way to make sure builders and homeowners get the most out of that investment. Providing a simple, accurate web-view of solar energy system performance, our PV2Web(tm) solution helps maximize energy production and minimize potential problems throughout the system's lifetime," explained Chris Beekhuis, President and CTO of Fat Spaniel Technologies. "We look forward to working with Old Country Roofing to scale and deploy the technology for their builder customers throughout the state."
The largest roofing company in Northern California also recently announced that it is teaming with BP Solar. Old Country Roofing is utilizing BP Solar's EnergyTile(TM) product, a roof-tile module that blends seamlessly into the design of the roof. EnergyTile integrates into the roof and offers homebuilders and homeowners an industry leading warranty and support.
