Tremco Global Sealants Announce the Acquisition of Permaquik

Tremco Global Sealants, the world's leading supplier of sealants and weatherproofing for construction and industrial applications, today announced the acquisition of Permaquik, a privately owned manufacturer of moisture protection systems for concrete structures based in Mississauga, Ontario.

Permaquik, established in 1978, is a leading supplier of high-performance hot-applied waterproofing and green roof systems as well as crystalline waterproofing, epoxies, sealers and expansion joints. The company's PQ6100 is widely recognized as one of the leading brands in hot rubberized asphaltic membranes and currently provides waterproofing protection on installations around the world ranging from foundation walls to plaza decks, including Oriental Plaza in Beijing; the Department of Transportation Building in Washington, D.C.; Lloyds, Register of Shipping in London, England; and the largest green roof project in Canada at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. The company was founded based on its development of crystalline waterproofing with unique formulations allowing for negative side applications. In recent years, Permaquik has made significant inroads with the introduction of lightweight, low maintenance, cost-effective green roof systems as eco- sensitive alternatives to conventional roofing.

"Permaquik has a large, geographically diversified customer base and will be an important part of growing our North American as well as our international waterproofing business," stated Randall Korach, president of Tremco's Global Sealants Division. "Their products and brands have tremendous acceptance and recognition particularly in Canada, where their hot applied waterproofing systems are the preferred technology. In addition, they have the people, technical expertise and premium products that fit well with our strategy of bringing value-added solutions to the construction industry. With rapidly expanding sales at Tremco, Permaquik's 40,000-square-foot facility will also provide the opportunity to increase our production capacity."
