Alarm.com, a leading provider of wireless, Web-enabled interactive security and monitoring system technology, today announced that it has entered into a marketing alliance with General Electric's (GE) Modular Space business, one of North America's largest suppliers of mobile and modular buildings and trailers.
Under the partnership, GE's Modular Space will offer its customers Alarm.com's wireless security systems, enabling them to protect their trailers without having a phone line installed at the location, as well as to benefit from Alarm.com's enhanced monitoring and control features.
The Alarm.com wireless module is compatible only with GE Security equipment.
"We went out to customers and asked them: What products and services did they use on their job sites? What could we add to our offerings to make their work easier? The answer came back clear: Help us with job site security," said Keith Shipp, Senior Vice President of Sales for GE's Modular Space business.
"As a result of our partnership with Alarm.com, we've got a fantastic product that we know will meet the needs of our customers," Shipp said. "Because Alarm.com systems require neither a phone line nor a long-term service contract, they are a perfect solution for securing temporary spaces. And Alarm.com's Web interface and customizable email and text message notifications make it easy for our customers to manage and monitor all types of activity at their job site -- from anywhere," Shipp said.
The Alarm.com solution gives GE's Modular Space customers a 100% wireless, easy-to-use security and business management tool for their temporary space needs. Through a single web interface, they can view current system status, access a history of activity at the property, arm and disarm the system remotely, and even automate their lights.
In addition to offering a central station monitoring option for alarm response, Alarm.com also lets customers receive automated alerts for any type of non-alarm activity they might want to monitor -- such as a power failure or an inventory closet door being opened at unexpected hours. And for customers who wish to leverage the Alarm.com technology to protect their more permanent structures and assets, GE Modular and Alarm.com are creating an offering that is installed by, and serviced by participating Alarm.com Security Dealers.
"Alarm.com is very happy to be able to provide GE's Modular Space customers with reliable and effective security technology," said Steve Trundle, CEO of Alarm.com. "GE is leading innovation in the modular industry and has identified the value in enabling their customers to not only protect their units, but also monitor nearly every aspect of their resources."
"As a result of this partnership," Shipp said, "we are now able to offer our customers the best security solution in the modular industry."
Alarm.com's service is marketed through GE's 75 Modular Space branch offices throughout the US; product information can be found at http://www.modspace.com/security
