Ultrastrong Epoxy Adhesive

Permabond has developed a new two-part epoxy adhesive that exploits the emerging technology of multiphase toughening.

The patented adhesive, known as E3332, has been independently tested and found to have the highest fracture energy of any adhesive in its class. It’s high adhesion in both peel and shear stressed joints makes it ideal for use in dynamically loaded assemblies where high strength and impact resistance are required.

E3332 is also rubber toughened to give excellent impact resistance and durability. This combination of toughness and high bond strength make it perfect for bonding dissimilar surfaces such as aluminium, thermosetting plastics, composites and ferrous metals.

The adhesive has an open-time of 2h, so large surface areas and structures can be bonded and there is ample time to realign components during assembly. This also minimises waste. E3332 mixes easily in a 1:1 ratio, is non-stringing, has low odour and does not emit flammable vapour. Cure time is around 8hours at room temperature but this can be increased with warming. No shrinkage occurs on curing and gaps up to 10mm can be filled.
