New Onsite Inspection Code

With on-site disputes over door specification, performance and safety, the Door and Shutter Manufacturers' Association (DSMA) has introduced a scheme where it can intervene in on-site problems and seek solutions.

The scheme consists of a series of Codes of Practice intended to address the various inquiries received by the DSMA. The Codes will allow approved impartial inspectors to make on site inspections ranging from answering technical queries to assisting with issues like giving independent expert opinion to disputes over door performance, installation quality, and safety.

The three codes are:

  • A Code of practice for the early resolution of disputes relating to product performance.
  • A Code of practice for the recommendation of expert witnesses.
  • A Code of practice for qualified product inspections.
