Foam Concrete Success

Over 1,400 cubic metres of foam concrete have been used to fill in voids under Witan Gate and Avebury Boulevard in Milton Keynes. Castle Cement supplied specialist contractor Foam Concrete Limited with 250 tonnes of CEM I, 250 tonnes of Ash Blend and 200 tonnes of Portland Limestone Cement. The task was carried out on behalf of Birse Construction and completed in 15 days.

Since foam concrete was first developed in America in 1923, it has had a comparatively gradual rise to popularity.

Now it is widely accepted for the many benefits it brings. It is self-compacting, self-levelling and costs less than conventional concrete.
