Pre-Finished Engineered 'E' Wood Flooring Introduced by Mountain Lumber

Mountain Lumber, the industry leader in antique reclaimed woods, announces the availability of engineered antique wood flooring that achieves a new level of beauty, quality and accessibility for reclaimed wood flooring. The pre-finished Historic Heart Pine(R) and Antique American Oak flooring is exclusive to Mountain Lumber and one of the newest technological advancements in the flooring industry. The line will be formally introduced at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC), the Northwest's premier homebuilding conference and tradeshow, at the Moscone West Center in San Francisco, June 20 to 23.

"Our engineered wood flooring is the best of both worlds, combining cutting edge technology and the rich beauty of antique wood," said company founder and president Willie Drake. "Mountain Lumber's pre-finished 'E-antique' floors allow architects, builders and designers to bring the beauty and character of antique reclaimed woods to commercial and residential customers in a distinctive and cost-efficient way." This new line of flooring has the same set of uncompromising quality standards and antique surface as the other solid Mountain Lumber flooring, however, layered underneath the reclaimed wood is a nine-ply sub-straight that provides a level of stability and installation options unavailable until now.

In addition to showcasing the engineered reclaimed wood flooring, Mountain Lumber also will feature ancient Chinese elm at the PCBC conference. Mountain Lumber rescued this wood from Chinese structures built 400-600 years ago recently torn down in a move to modernize. It will be available to customers seeking an extraordinary accent in their home decor. Exclusive to Mountain Lumber, the company is seeing a strong demand for the richly pedigreed wood. "Ancient Chinese Elm is an iron-hard wood that is striking, exotic and loaded with history," said Debra Eason from Mountain Lumber. "We are confident the Ancient Chinese Elm will be a 'trophy floor' for designers and homeowners who appreciate the finer things in life."

For the past 32 years Mountain Lumber has reclaimed antique wood and transformed it into beautiful flooring, beams and other architectural details. Timbers are saved from turn-of-the-century buildings and other unique sources then milled into the industry's premier quality product line before being shipped for commercial and residential use throughout the
United States, Europe and Asia.

Willie Drake, the founder and president of Mountain Lumber, is a pioneer in saving and reusing Historic Heart Pine(R), American Chestnut and American Oak throughout the United States. Drake has also rescued many other woods including English Brown Oak taken from old Guinness Stout vats and Russian White Oak set aside over a hundred years ago for the Trans-Siberian Railroad and most recently the Ancient Chinese Elm saved from the demolition of 15th Century Ming Dynasty buildings in China.

Mountain Lumber never cuts down trees when making flooring. The company has developed a manufacturing process that reuses wood allowing it to stand by its commitment to protecting the environment. The antique reclaimed wood is carefully selected, re-sawn, kiln-dried, milled and sorted into a series of exacting grades suited for commercial and residential use.
