British Beer and Pub Association Gains Greenhouse Gas Emissions Verification

The first UK trade association to achieve greenhouse gas emissions verification is The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA).

After exceeding its energy-saving targets outlined in its government climate change agreement, the BBPA estimates it will now save the brewing industry around £4m a year in Climate Change Levy Payments (CCL). These CCL payments are a tax on energy intensive sectors, like brewing, which are designed to encourage the reduction of carbon emissions. Meeting energy reduction targets can mean an 80 per cent discount on the charges.
