Lindab's Building Systems has received an order worth approximately 43 MSEK to deliver an Astron® building to the city of Salekhard, which is located on the Arctic Circle in Northern Russia.
The new arena will consist of an ice rink with appr. 3.000 seats, training halls, tennis courts, three swimming pools and a universal gym. The new arena can also be used for cultural events and exhibitions.
The complex consists of several Astron single-storey and multi-storey blocks with a total area of 28,880 m². The main building is an AT polygonal structure with a free span of 58.5 m. All roof surfaces will use the LMR600 roof system with 300 mm insulation of brand Astrotherm® providing ultimate tightness and optimized thermal performance, covering the huge snow load of 320 kg/m² in that region.
The delivery will be carried out during the second half of 2016. The arena is planned to be opened in 2017.
Anders Berg, Lindab's President and CEO commented:
"Facing the continuing difficult market situation in Russia, our Building Systems division is constantly working with high pressure on that market, focusing on special market segments and selected regions. Especially for huge and complex buildings, investors are convinced by the services and high quality system solutions that Lindab provides."
