Mäntsälä Municipality signs a life cycle agreement with NCC. The contract, a 20 -year agreement with an option to extend the agreement for an additional five years, encompasses the construction and maintenance of Riihenmäki School and Hyökännummi School and Daycare.
The lifecycle contract has a total value of SEK 620 million, the construction project’s portion of the agreement being SEK 280 million, registered in the third quarter of 2015 in NCC Construction Finland. The total floor space of the buildings is almost 11,500 square meters, of which Hyökännummi School and Daycare will account for slightly more than 4,700 square meters and the expansion of Riihenmäki School for 6,800 square meters.
“This agreement is a natural continuation of the school and daycare project carried out by NCC in the Lahti region in which Mäntsälä Municipality is located. The schools and daycare will be built according to the life cycle model, which will offer Mäntsälä Municipality a cost and resource-efficient way to maintain these buildings for many years to come,” says Veijo Hämäläinen, Regional Manager at NCC Construction Finland.
The projects will begin immediately in Riihenmäki and in early 2017 in Hyökännummi. The projects will employ an average of 40 people. The expansion of Riihenmäki School is scheduled for completion in May 2017 and Hyökännummi School and Daycare in summer 2018.
