Surface America Announces Expansion Plans Within Gymnasium and Fitness Flooring Markets

Surface America, a national leading company in recreational and athletic surfacing, announces its growth plans within the gymnasium and fitness flooring markets, as well as the resilient tennis court niche segment.

The decision to further grow these areas is driven by market demand for more diverse surfacing and flooring options and Surface America's strong core competencies in system development, installation & contract management.

A subsidiary of Ecore International and Master Dealer & Installer of Ecore Athletic products in the Northeast, Surface America offers industry-leading, high-performance surfacing & flooring systems for a multitude of applications within the recreational and athletic industries where performance, durability and safety are essential. Along with its best-in-class products, Surface America is known for its proven capabilities portfolio including: strong financials, superior project management, and industry-leading warranties. The combination of Ecore's manufacturing expertise and Surface America's generous specifications and high level of service brings a needed turnkey option to the market.

"Surface America has thousands of recreational and athletic surfacing projects to its credit and has earned a highly respected reputation for our turnkey project management and proven systems. By further developing our product line to offer a broader, more diverse line of surfacing & flooring systems we are better able to meet the demand regionally and across the country," states Jim Dobmeier, President and Founder of Surface America. "Taking our expertise and these best-in-class rated systems into our portfolio for the gymnasium, fitness and tennis market is a natural extension of what we've been doing for the last 22 years."

Surface America's expansion includes the following proven flooring and surfacing systems:

For gymnasiums: Boflex and Bounce. Boflex is an engineered hardwood with wood core & dual foam channel. Bounce is an engineered vinyl roll with wood look, bonded to rubber. Both systems offer a beautiful wood look that's comfortable and shock absorbing.  These complement Surface America's original gymnasium system, ElastoFloor™, which combines a poured, seamless urethane and rubber ShockPad.

For Tennis Courts: Laykold® Masters Series and OmniCourt®. Ideal for outdoor and indoor courts, both surfacing types cater to the desire for a surface that offers outstanding resilience and high comfort for players, enhancing and extending playing careers.

For Fitness:  Performance, Bounce, Boflex, Actiflex, UltraTile™ and Everlast. Like Boflex, Actiflex is an engineered hardwood with wood core & dual foam channel, while offering the portability of simply snapping and locking the flooring sections into place. Performance is a dual layer, engineered rubber roll. This flooring system offers enhanced acoustics, force reduction and energy restitution.  Bounce is an engineered vinyl roll with wood look.  UltraTile's durable wear layer is bonded to a resilient underlayment that takes toughness and resilience to a new level.  Everlast is a fitness industry mainstay, featuring a roll good design that's been in use for decades, literally throughout the world, in every imaginable fitness venue.
