As cameras rolled, a new AZEK Deck was constructed on the set of Canada AM, a lifestyle morning show on CTV in Canada, with expert commentary from Doug Plourde, owner of Danforth Lumber, a Home Hardware Company based in Toronto.
Doug first appeared on a segment in late April, and will appear again on Wednesday, May 20th, as the project is finished up for the show. Here is a link to the April AZEK Deck episode: http://canadaam.ctvnews.ca/video?playlistId=1.2351889
"The show's producers and hosts needed more space for live events, so we are removing a small fish pond and repurposing the TimberTech deck I built four years ago, which still looks great," said Plourde. He recommended AZEK Deck's Terra Collection in Tahoe, a calming shade of gray with enhanced grain textures for a natural look that truly stands out. AZEK Deck is manufactured by AZEK Building Products, a leader in premium PVC exterior products.
Plourde discussed the beauty, low-maintenance and longevity of AZEK Deck, which is a capped PVC in a range of colors from light to dark variegated options that work well with any home exterior. The TimberTech deck, still in excellent condition according to the show's host, is being moved and will be re-used in another part of the outdoor set.
Because of the massive size of the new deck, Plourde is using diagonal patterns to break up the look, so it doesn't have a "bowling alley" effect. "It's very easy to create design interest with this material," said Plourde. "You can picture frame the outside edge and mix and match colors of the decking and the railing as well!"
AZEK Building Products also features deck lighting, beautifully crafted railings with a variety of in-fill options and hidden fasteners. Canadian homeowners may be familiar with composite decking, but capped PVC decking is another category offering natural looks and low-maintenance.
