Ball Announces Plans to Build Two-Line Beverage Can Manufacturing Plant in Mexico

Ball Corporation today announced plans to build a two-line beverage can manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico. This location, which complements Ball's North American metal beverage packaging footprint, will start up in the first half of 2016 and produce multiple can sizes. The majority of the capacity is contracted under a long-term agreement.

"The demand for standard and specialty metal beer packaging continues to grow, and the Monterrey plant will allow us to expand our customer base and product portfolio," said Daniel W. Fisher, president, North American metal beverage packaging. "This returns-oriented growth project broadens our geographic reach into a new and growing market for Ball's global metal beverage packaging business, which aligns with Ball's Drive for 10 vision."
