Bechtel has been selected by Carroll County Energy LLC, an affiliate of Advanced Power, to build a 700 megawatt natural gas-fired combined-cycle generating facility in Carroll County, Ohio. Bechtel will be responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and start-up of the Carroll County Energy Facility, which will use advanced emissions-control technology and will be one of the cleanest and most efficient plants in the nation.

Bechtel Enterprises partnered with Advanced Power in the development of the project.

Bechtel has received full notice to proceed and construction work will begin immediately. The plant is scheduled to open for commercial operation in 2017. Once completed, the facility will generate sufficient electricity to power more than 740,000 homes in the region.
