Demilec, one of North America's largest manufacturers of spray foam insulation and polyurea products, has revamped the formulation of its popular APX low-density spray foam insulation to dramatically improve yield, reduce waste and decrease the time required for application.
Demilec APX is an open-cell polyurethane spray foam used to insulate and air seal homes, schools and commercial buildings. The product meets the rigorous fire test standards established by the International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) for use in attics without a protective fire coating.
"When we first introduced the APX collection, Demilec set a new standard for fire safety. Now, with this new formulation, we've increased the product's performance and value, making it easier, faster and better to use than ever," said Tom Fishback, PhD, Vice President of Innovation and Technology at Demilec.
Demilec APX has an R-value of 3.7 at 1 inch and is a half-pound density foam that has passed the rigorous AC377 Appendix X test. This superior fire performance eliminates the need for additional protection materials.
In addition to meeting ICC-ES standards, Demilec APX is in compliance with the International Building Code (IBC), the International Residential Code (IRC) and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). It is also low VOC-compliant and meets section 01350 requirement set by the California Department of Public Health.
