Skanska has signed a contract to construct the Rex Heart and Vascular Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. The contract is worth USD 93 M, about SEK 630 M, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska USA Building for the fourth quarter of 2014.
The new 28,000-square-meter, eight-story, freestanding addition to the Rex UNC Health Care Campus will be dedicated solely to the treatment of patients with heart disease. The patient tower floors will house 127 rooms, including ICU, acuity, and telemetry.
Construction started in September 2014 and is expected to be completed in March 2017.
