MBIA Honors Mid-Atlantic Builders with Environmental Award for Most Energy Efficient New Home

Mid-Atlantic Builders has won the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) Environmental Award for Most Energy Efficient New Home. The Mid-Atlantic Builders Modena model received a HERS rating of 53, meaning that it is 47% more efficient than the standard new home.

Many Mid-Atlantic homes score in the 40s, with the lowest home reaching a 47 HERS score. The average HERS score in the metro Washington, DC area is a 70. Mid-Atlantic homes feature advanced construction technology and techniques that deliver greater longevity, durability and savings over the life of the home. Mid-Atlantic homeowners save thousands of dollars on their energy costs annually.
