Minto Communities, the award-winning homebuilder and developer who created successful communities such as Olympia in Wellington, The Isles of Collier Preserve in Naples, and Sun City Center - Tampa’s premier active adult community, has begun the planning and design of a new development on 1,600 acres located in the area of western Daytona Beach known as Daytona West.
Minto is purchasing the land from Consolidated-Tomoka Land Company and the new community is slated to be age restricted, targeting adults 55 and over, and is located at I-95 and LPGA Boulevard.
This marks the seventh new Minto community launched in the Florida market in the past two years and is an important acquisition as part of the company’s strategic growth plan.
“Minto’s proven experience and financial strength for nearly 60 years are great assets in creating a community in Daytona Beach, one of the most iconic locations in Florida,” said Michael Belmont, President of Minto Communities Florida. “It’s a growing, thriving area and people are attracted to it as a place to live, as well as a vacation destination.”
The community will have over 3,000 single-family homes and paired villa residences and is enhanced by abundant green space, parks, walking and biking trails and lakes. The prime location is bordered by the natural beauty of Tiger Bay State Forest to the west, and is in close proximity to the headquarters of the Ladies Professional Golf Association and their home course LPGA International, Daytona International Speedway, and the highly anticipated One Daytona, a 1.1 million square foot retail, dining and entertainment destination. The new Minto community is also just minutes from Daytona Beach International Airport and the beaches. Construction on the new community is slated to begin mid 2015 with first new home sales offered by mid 2016.
Proposed amenities at this golf cart-friendly lifestyle community include a resort-style town center with clubhouse, restaurant, recreational and fitness facilities. Residents will also have the opportunity to participate in membership privileges at nearby LPGA International with its two signature golf courses, one designed by Rees Jones and the other by Arthur Hills. “Minto’s newest community will provide a social, active lifestyle with world class resort-style amenities plus all the attractions of Daytona Beach,” stated William Bullock, Senior Vice President of Minto Communities, Florida. “Buyers will enjoy the exceptional value, energy-efficiency and craftsmanship of a new Minto home.”
