Sunrise Senior Living Moves Ahead With Construction on New Community in Southern California

Sunrise Senior Living, LLC, a leading provider of senior living services, today announced it is moving forward with construction on a new community in Southern California that will offer Assisted Living and Memory Care programs to benefit area seniors and their families. Sunrise at Palos Verdes is expected to begin welcoming residents in early 2016.

“Sunrise is proud to offer families more senior living care options, and the peace of mind that comes with the high quality standards that set us apart,” said Chris Winkle, Sunrise’s chief executive officer. “We have more than 30 years of experience in serving seniors, and look forward to continuing to grow and develop communities that provide the very best in personalized care.”

Sunrise at Palos Verdes will be a four-story community, conveniently located on Hawthorne Boulevard in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, minutes away from area health care, residential and commercial centers. The community in Torrance, CA, will feature approximately 80 units and a flexible layout that will offer a variety of Memory Care neighborhoods and programs, depending on the individual needs of its residents. Sunrise at Palos Verdes residents will be able to enjoy Southern California’s beautiful scenery and climate through landscaped outdoor spaces nestled into the picturesque surroundings. The community is also expected to offer enhanced perimeter security, electronic health record systems, Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the premises and emergency call systems, as well as custom-designed furnishings and décor.

“Sunrise is firmly committed to championing the quality of life for all seniors, and we are very pleased to expand our presence in Southern California,” said Jeff Slichta, senior vice president of Operations for Sunrise. “Sunrise at Palos Verdes will help meet the increasing demand for specialized memory care with multiple programs to support seniors and their families through the various stages of memory loss. Additionally, the community’s location will allow residents to take advantage of great dining, shops and other entertainment on their own or through our robust daily programming.”

In addition to Sunrise at Palos Verdes, Sunrise continues to develop Sunrise of Burlingame, CA, and Sunrise of Dublin, OH. Both communities are expected to open in the summer of 2015, and will also offer Sunrise’s Assisted Living and Memory Care.
