The Weitz Company, a full-service construction firm, today introduced a new, fully-integrated design-build solution for agriculture, food and beverage and manufacturing services.
This approach provides a unique opportunity for collaboration among the client, contractor and engineer in the early design phase, and throughout the life of the project. The result is time and cost savings, reduced risk and a better quality outcome.
This latest announcement comes on the heels of an expansion of services announced in May 2014, in which The Weitz Company began providing in-house design and engineering services for process solutions, modular construction, fabrication capabilities, and diversified into slipform concrete design and construction.
“This transition in our business is a natural progression of our plan for growth, which started with the opening of our design-build office in Minneapolis in May,” said Humberto Lopez, executive vice president of Industrial, The Weitz Company. “Our design-build expertise will allow The Weitz Company to deliver more innovative design and construction services for new and existing clients.”
Kevin Grittner, P.E., will lead the new design-build agriculture team. Grittner has more than 13 years of industry experience in engineering and project management.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to roll out this very valuable approach to our hundreds of clients, helping them to maximize their capital investments,” said Grittner. “The expertise The Weitz Company is able to offer through our talented team will serve us well as we work to grow our presence in the marketplace.”
The group will include design, project management and field services, ensuring a fully integrated solution.
