Popular Science magazine has released their list of the most impressive technologies for 2005.

In the HomeTech division finalists included Grancrete Sprayable concrete, GE Profile Dishwasher, iRobot Scooba floor washing robot, Panasonic EY7202GQW impact driver, 360 Electrical Duplex Outlet for unruly plugs, EGP Thermique Hot Glass transparent adjustable heater and the First Alert Onelink Alarm smoke alarm.

The HomeTech winner was Timber Treatment Technologies TimberSIL Pressure-treated lumber.

TimberSIL Pressure treated lumber is noncorrosive, fire-retardant, structurally sound yet lighter than untreated wood, and resistant to mold, mildew, termites and rot—pressure-treated wood is perfect for outdoor projects like swing sets and decks. Before TimberSIL treatment was done with potentially dangerous chemicals that are currently being banned or phased out.
