The American Concrete Institute (ACI) announces its upcoming convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, March 26-30, 2006, with the theme: "Fast-Track Innovations."
The Charlotte convention marks the first convention for ACI in 2006. Over 300 meetings are planned, more than 30 technical sessions are being offered, and 30 exhibitors and 1,500 attendees are expected to fill the exhibit hall.
ACI's nationally recognized student competition will challenge teams of students from national and international universities to design and build the highest impact-load-resistant plain or reinforced concrete Egg Protection Device.
Additional highlights of the convention include a dinner honoring Paul Zia, a nationally recognized educator and practitioner in prestressed concrete and high performance concrete; a high-energy mixer featuring remote-controlled race cars; and a one-day seminar on Anchorage in Concrete.
The convention is hosted by the ACI Carolinas Chapter. To register for the convention, visit ACI's website at www.concrete.org
