Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a company of Michael Baker International, announced today that it has been awarded a Construction Management and Inspection Services contract for improvements to the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN) Regional Collection System.
This contract award continues the firm’s decades-long relationship in providing engineering and construction management expertise to ALCOSAN. Michael Baker International has historically been one of the Pittsburgh region’s preferred providers of these services and is an established leader in Construction Management Services locally and globally.
Baker International’s contract with ALCOSAN will extend to September of 2015 and is part of ALCOSAN’s Capital Project for replacement or upgrades of seven flap gates in the Interceptor System. The flap gates are located along the three rivers spanning from Avalon/Bellevue in the Northwest to Hazelwood in the Southeast portion of the Pittsburgh Region. Baker International’s services will include but are not limited to: municipal coordination, permitting support, safety support, bidding assistance, construction management and inspection, and engineering support.
