Ferro’s INNOVEX Flame Retardant Wins Blowing Agents and Foaming Processes Innovation Awards

Ferro Engineered Polymer Products’ INNOVEX® Flame Retardant (FR) novel foam enhancement technology was the runner-up winner in the Blowing Agents and Foaming Processes Innovation Awards, which were announced at the international Blowing Agents & Foaming Processes 2014 conference, held May 13-14, in Vienna, Austria.

Smithers Rapra, which organized the conference and awards program, presented Ferro with its runner-up recognition. The INNOVEX® flame retardant masterbatch (INNOVEX® FFSB-0352) was praised by the award program’s independent judging committee for its effectiveness in addressing environmental issues; economic factors, such as energy and materials cost savings it can generate; and also the general impression its use can help achieve, which referred to the look, feel and surface quality of the extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation boards that were produced using INNOVEX® technology.
