When Trent and Trish Irwin, the T's in TnT Builders of Albany, Oregon create a backyard oasis, they make sure it's a place where homeowners can escape.
And, with vacation travel running a small family upwards of $3,000, a summer vacation at home remains a popular option. "With the rising cost of travel, homeowners want a place where they can experience the outdoors," explained Trish. "They want to entertain, let the kids play, eat meals or just relax. So low-maintenance, no splinters and great looks all add up to a design that offers its own private paradise."
TnT's approach to outdoor design is like a story and the deck is one of the chapters. "That's why we choose the best decking materials like TimberTech, so the story has a happy ending," Trish said. And, new composite technology is allowing TnT to be even more creative. Recently, TnT built a deck using TimberTech's Terrain Collection for Terry and Jan Tallis of Corvallis, OR, which features a "capped" technology offering an extra layer of protection. "The homeowners just love it!" said Trish. "For anyone who thinks composites are out of their budget, Terrain is an affordable option."
The cedar deck TnT replaced was 15 years old and rapidly deteriorating. Fixing it was a consideration until Terry fell through the deck when he was moving plants. "We knew they needed something new and Terrain was perfect for their budget," said Trish. The Tallises are thrilled to be able to welcome visitors on their new deck. Also, according to Jan, they eat outside as often as possible and move all the family action to the deck.
The new three-level deck is in a rich, elegant color called Brown Oak. TnT built in several customized benches and there's a trickling pond nearby and a lush array of plants for the ultimate "staycation" deck. "Who needs to go anywhere when you have this?" asked Trish.
TimberTech introduced Earthwood Evolutions®, a new generation of capped composites, a few years ago. For consumers looking for an affordable capped composite, the Terrain Collection was unveiled last year. TimberTech's Earthwood Evolutions collections carry a 25-year fade and stain warranty.
