Sustainability is the cornerstone of Harmony, a visionary 1,700-acre village concept featuring a self-contained water system, recreational lake and a 27-hole championship golf course.
With plans for a health centre, schools, water treatment systems, an employment campus, and state of the art environmental and water conservation methods, Harmony will bring benefits to residents through the entire region.
"The vision for Harmony resonates with our commitment to creating communities we believe in," says Karin Finley, Qualico Communities' Vice President. "We're excited to be an integral part of this project and look forward to working with Bordeaux Developments and Rocky View County to ensure that Harmony will be truly exceptional."
Elbow River Land Corporation (the Copithorne Family) and Harmony Limited Partnership by its general partner, Harmony GP Inc. (Bordeaux Properties Inc.) reached an agreement with Qualico Communities to partner and develop Harmony. Local ranching family and landowners, the Copithornes, have been an integral part in the planning of Harmony and will remain involved in the development of the project.
"Harmony is truly the culmination of many key partnerships with neighbours, government and industry leaders. Our partnership with Qualico is a perfect fit and continues the legacy of collaboration with the right people that makes Harmony unique," says Birol Fisekci, President & CEO of Bordeaux Properties. "The County of Rocky View has shown true leadership and trust in our process to create a progressive community which respects rural lifestyle while addressing residential and business growth needs."
Harmony is an innovative lifestyle community situated just west of Calgary in Springbank. It is the only approved master-planned community in the area and will incorporate 3,500 homes, a +/- 135 acre recreational lake, 27 hole championship golf course and 138 acre employment campus, all centered around a village core that will provide local boutique retail opportunities and community gathering spaces for its residents and neighbours. Project construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2014 with showhomes scheduled to open in September, 2015.
This new partnership brings together the best minds in the business and carries on Harmony's tradition of collaboration, sound planning and innovative thinking. Moving forward, the new partnership will continue to utilize Bordeaux Developments' strengths in community innovation and design while adding Qualico's strengths in bringing communities to life.

About Elbow River Land Corporation (ERLC)
The Copithorne family was among the first settlers to establish a homestead in what is now Rocky View County and has played an integral role in the prosperity of this region for generations. The family of Harriette and Bill Copithorne, as ERLC, identified an opportunity to build upon their ancestors' legacy and, as a family, chose to re-purpose some of their land and help pioneer a new era of responsible residential growth. From this dream, Harmony was born.
