Since September of 2013, Regency has invested a total of $6 million into revitalizing the center, which included modernizing the exterior façade, upgrading the facility’s parking lot, adding new outdoor plazas, and creating more walkable pedestrian areas. The new Whole Foods Market store is a focal point of these enhancements.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Whole Foods Market at Greenway Town Center in Tigard,” said Craig Ramey, Senior Vice President and Senior Market Officer, Regency Centers. “This is a community whose finger is constantly on the pulse of emerging food trends and awareness. We want to provide them with not only one of the top-tier grocers in the country, but also one that sources many products locally. With the addition of outdoor patios, expanded walkways and lush landscaping, Greenway Town Center now provides customers with a place to relax, shop, and connect with their community.”

Founded in Austin, TX in 1980, Whole Foods Market is an industry-leading natural and organic grocer that has transformed the organic foods industry in the United States. Now boasting more than 360 stores in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom, the company maintains a strong commitment to sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship and community reinvestment.

Originally constructed in 1979, Regency Centers and GRI acquired the 93,101 square foot Greenway Town Center in 2005. Located 12 miles southwest of Portland, Town Center serves an affluent local population of more than 137,000 and is ideally positioned at a highly trafficked arterial location, linking Washington Square and Hwy 217 corridor. In addition to the new Whole Foods Market, which will be the only grocer within a one-mile radius, Rite Aid and Dollar Tree also anchor Greenway Town Center.
