The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Masco Home Services as a 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through its work as a Home Energy Rater. Masco Home Services accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 29, 2014.
Masco Home Services, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2002, is being honored for their work in verifying ENERGY STAR compliant homes. Home Energy Raters provide the evaluation, testing, and independent verification required for ENERGY STAR compliant homes.
Since 2001 Masco Home Services has verified over 200,000 ENERGY STAR compliant homes working with many of the largest national and regional home builders across the country helping them build high performance energy efficient homes.
"Homes built to meet ENERGY STAR standards provide extra value for home buyers," said Dave Bell, Director of Building Science at Masco Home Services. "Homes that earn the ENERGY STAR rating are more comfortable and ensure long-term savings on energy bills while reducing greenhouse gas emissions."

"Homebuyers choose ENERGY STAR compliant homes for greater energy efficiency and comfort. Home Energy Raters like Masco Home Services make it easy for homebuyers to identify and choose these homes."
The 2014 Partner of the Year Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize their contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through improved energy efficiency. Award winners are selected from the 16,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.
ENERGY STAR compliant new homes use substantially less energy for heating, cooling, and water heating; in fact, homeowners who buy ENERGY STAR compliant homes can expect to use 15-30% less energy than a typical new home. Currently, over 2,700 home builders across the nation are constructing homes that meet EPA's strict requirements for energy efficiency.
Through 2013, with help from the ENERGY STAR program, American families and businesses have saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
