Triumph Modular Incorporated, the Northeast's premier provider of high quality relocatable and permanent modular buildings, was recently recognized with five Awards of Distinction from the Modular Building Institute (MBI) at the World of Modular in San Antonio, Texas.

In the permanent modular category, Triumph is proud to announce, two of their premier 2013 projects, the MIT Childcare Center and Acton Housing Authority, each took a first place award. Sprout Space™, a predesigned high performance relocatable classroom that was featured as part of the Green Schools Exhibit at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, was also recognized with a first place award.

The construction industry is experiencing an increasing trend towards incorporating modular construction methods in both small and large scale projects and Triumph Modular has carefully placed themselves at the forefront of that trend. Cliff Cort, president of Triumph Modular, began a mission back in 2008 to bring sustainability and green construction principals to the modular industry. Since then, Triumph has built numerous green modular projects, including previous award winners such as The Carroll School Smart Space, Harvard Yard Childcare Center, and The Next Generation Relocatable Classrooms. This year, they continued that trend to redefine modular with Sprout Space™ and the MIT Childcare Center.

The MBI Awards of Distinction contest is the commercial modular industry's premier awards program, offering competition in over 30 categories for MBI members: building manufacturers, dealers, and product and service providers. Entries are temporary, permanent, and renovated modular buildings as well as industry marketing pieces. Each entry is reviewed by an impartial panel of industry and non-industry construction and code experts, architects and engineers, and marketing professionals. The following is a summary of Triumph's 2014 award winning projects:

  • Sprout Space™ - First Place "Temporary Modular Education"
  • MIT Childcare Center First Place "Permanent Modular Education"
  • LEED Gold Acton Housing Authority Project - First Place "Commercial Housing"
  • EMD Serono Class A Office Space - First Place and Best in Show "Renovated Reuse"
