Verdantix Includes BuildingIQ in Green Quadrant Building Energy Management Software Report

BuildingIQ, a leading energy management software company, today announces that it has been selected by Verdantix, an independent analyst firm, as one of 14 companies for its “Green Quadrant® Building Energy Management Software” report. BuildingIQ is recognized for its software’s ability to deliver energy savings within large commercial buildings.

BuildingIQ’s energy management solution creates a sophisticated thermal model that automatically learns a building’s energy performance. The software received outstanding marks in energy asset management for its predictive energy optimization technology and demand response capabilities. Strong differentiators also included the system’s ability to capture energy data from existing systems and its energy monitoring and targeting capabilities.

To make real-time changes to building controls and optimize HVAC energy usage, BuildingIQ’s system factors in variables such as weather forecasts, utility tariffs, demand response events, building characteristics and occupant comfort. The subscription-based software easily integrates with a facility’s existing building management system (BMS), a feature that also received best-in-class recognition.

“The Green Quadrant reports provide valuable insight into extremely complicated and quick moving markets,” said Alisdair McDougall, Verdantix Analyst and author of the “Green Quadrant® Building Energy Management Software” report. “As decision makers continue to look for long-term solutions, we expect the investment in energy management software to grow steadily over the coming years. BuildingIQ’s strengths are seen in its predictive optimization technology and automated approach to energy savings for large commercial customers.”

Verdantix selected companies to be included in the Green Quadrant report based on live product demonstrations, questionnaires and interviews conducted with an independent panel of 15 customers across nine industries that were involved in the purchasing of energy management software. The report features those solutions that best save time, reduce costs and mitigate risks for customers.

“Our solution is not only effective for a single building but for a whole portfolio of different properties,” said Michael Nark, president & CEO of BuildingIQ. “By providing our solution on a subscription basis, property owners are able to maximize the potential of their existing infrastructure and create value without the large capital expenditures that alternative technologies require. This recognition from Verdantix, one of the most elite research firms in its space, is further validation that the strategy we’ve taken is meeting the needs of the industry.”
