USPTO Grants LMK Patents Related to Sealing of Main-to-Lateral Junction of Pipes

The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued two patents to LMK Technologies, LLC, earlier this week. The patents relate to the use of hydrophilic materials to help seal the junction between main and lateral sewer pipes.

US Patent 8,667,991 is directed to a gasket of hydrophilic rubber used in combination with a lining assembly to rehabilitate the pipe junction and a portion of the lateral pipe. The patent also covers technology using a hydrophilic paste for sealing about the pipe juncture. US Patent 8,667,992 includes additional claims relating to the use of hydrophilic paste in main/lateral pipelining applications.

According to Larry Kiest, President and Founder, "LMK is pleased that the Patent Office continues to recognize LMK's innovations for rehabilitating main-to-lateral sewer connections. Protecting our intellectual property promotes the advancement of pipe rehabilitation technologies and is consistent with our ongoing commitment to our customers and installation contractors."
