UFPI Enters Distribution Agreement with NNC for CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System

Universal Forest Products, Inc. is proud to announce a distribution agreement for the CAMO® Hidden Deck Fastening System, a product of National Nail Corp. (NNC). CAMO now is available from select UFPI affiliates and will be co-marketed with the Company’s ProWood® brand of pressure-treated decking. ProWood is the first and only brand of pressured-treated decking to recommend the CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System.

“We believe that ProWood Professional Grade pressure-treated decking is the best on the market, and the best way to fasten a wood deck is with CAMO,” said Chip Manger, UFPI director of independent retail sales. “By putting together the best decking material and the best fastener, we offer our dealers the best wood deck system in the industry—and a way to separate them from the competition. This fulfills a ProWood promise to help our dealers grow their business.”

ProWood is a leading brand of professional grade, pressure-treated lumber for decks, fencing and other outdoor projects. Its many options include ProWood Dura Color®, which is color-infused during the treating process. Dura Color combines the natural color characteristics of cedar and redwood with the technological advantages of less-expensive, pressure-treated lumber: it resists rot and insect damage.

“We are pleased to be working with Universal Forest Products as we bring our industry-leading technologies, CAMO and ProWood, to market together,” said W. Scott Baker, president and CEO of National Nail Corp. “Since its introduction nearly three years ago, CAMO has continued to prove that homeowners, contractors, retailers, distributors and deck manufacturers prefer the advantages of CAMO Edge Fastening to traditional face fastening. It’s rewarding to hear our customers say, ‘CAMO just makes sense.’”

“The CAMO Hidden Fastening System is the perfect complement to ProWood Professional Grade decking and should be used as a best practice when installing treated lumber deck boards,” said Chris Fox, ProWood product manager. “Not only does CAMO Hidden Fasteners make our deck surface look better, it also helps reduce some of the inherent issues that occur with traditional face screws, like splitting and warping.”
