Sapia Builders Corp. was recently awarded 2013 HOBI Awardsfor Best Adaptive Re-use for renovating the old Chester Savings Bank in Chester, CT into a new upscale restaurant called "Six Main" and Best Lower Level Remodel at a private residence project in Essex, CT.

The HOBI Awards is the state's most prestigious housing industry program, recognizing excellence in new construction, land development, remodeling, sales and marketing, and home financing.
The "Best Adaptive Re-use" renovation project for the new restaurant, "Six Main," focused on the conversion of an 1800's brick and limestone savings bank, complete with 3 bank vaults, into a 5 star restaurant in the center of downtown Chester, CT. The scope of work entailed converting the existing space into a commercial kitchen with teaching area, creating a reception and back bar area, restrooms, server stations, cathedral dining area with period moldings, a seated bar area in the dining room, outdoor patio, walkways, and parking, and much more behind the scenes regarding building operation infrastructure. The "Best Lower Level Remodel" project was completed at a client's private residence in Essex, CT. Over 1,000 square feet of finishes were completely demolished and re-designed with a sense of style consistent with work previously completed by Sapia in the main living floors of the house. White washed hardwood floors, custom cabinetry and built-ins, large wood paneling with molding details, large custom horizontal paneling, guest bathroom accommodations, and a new office with custom wood top are some of the items in the basic scope or work.
