Penhall Sponsors Students at ASC Concrete Solutions Student Competition

Penhall Company, the North American leader in concrete cutting services, was proud to sponsor a team of university students at this year's Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Concrete Solutions Student Competition in Reno, Nevada.

Every year the ASC holds a competition between the best and brightest students in construction management from universities across the United States. In the Concrete Solutions category, the teams act as concrete subcontracting firms that bid against each other on a project. The judges act as the general contractor for the project, reviewing the student's written proposal and conducting formal interviews with each subcontracting company.

"The competition provides cream-of-the-crop construction management students with real-world experience on what it's like to be a concrete subcontractor," explains Mike Meagan, HR Manager at Penhall Company. "The ASC competition offers an outstanding opportunity for the students to showcase their talents, learn leadership and teamwork, and network with potential employers and construction recruiters."

Adds Meagan, "Penhall has a history of sponsoring students participating in the ASC competition because we believe in investing in the leaders who will be the future of concrete construction."

This value system is also reflected in Penhall's alignment with local universities. Through an internship program, students work with Penhall on a variety of concrete-related projects including marketing, sales, and general management.
