Aqua Virginia Slated to Complete 2013 Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Improvement Program

Aqua Virginia (Aqua) today announced it will soon complete its 2013 program of approximately $3.4 million in infrastructure improvements to water and wastewater systems statewide.

“Families across Virginia depend on Aqua, and we’re committed to maintaining and improving the water and wastewater systems that serve our customers,” said Aqua Virginia President Shannon Becker. “These improvements are critical to ensuring that we protect public health and that our customers can count on reliable service.”

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates $6.7 billion of water infrastructure needs and $6.8 billion of wastewater infrastructure needs in Virginia over the next 20 years that are vital to public health and the economy.

Aqua provides water and wastewater service to approximately 75,000 people in 171 communities in 35 counties across Virginia. More information is available at aquaamerica.com.
