MiTek Industries, Inc. (MiTek), a Berkshire Hathaway company, and the world’s leading supplier of advanced engineered structural connector systems, software, equipment and services for the building components industry announced today the introduction of SAPPHIRE Build, a suite of business and workflow management software tools for production home builders.
MiTek’s recent acquisition, Kova Solutions, LLC, provides the functional core and framework for SAPPHIRE Build, which is now an end-to-end integrated solution. In addition to SAPPHIRE Build’s powerful options management capability, and the advanced structural framing software that underlie all SAPPHIRE software, SAPPHIRE Build now provides workflow and operational management which integrates and controls the entire home building business operation with one complete system.
“SAPPHIRE Build now represents a truly unique and leading-edge offering to community-based production home builders,” stated Chris Hollander, MiTek’s Corporate Vice President. “This platform not only streamlines and improves the effectiveness of their internal business processes, but it also allows them to collaborate very efficiently with their supply chain partners.”
The introduction of SAPPHIRE Build is the integration of two MiTek solutions that are already in the market: MiTek Blackpoint™ software and Kova. Now they are integrated into a single, re-branded platform. Enabling production builders to seamlessly integrate their processes, the SAPPHIRE Build suite offers the industry’s only unified system – sales & marketing, product development, purchasing, production, land management, and customer service. The software suite is in use by several private and publicly held U.S. production home builders today. MiTek’s rollout of the expanded SAPPHIRE Build suite will be focused initially at the nation’s production home builders.
MiTek is based in Chesterfield, Missouri and is a diversified global supplier of engineered products, software and systems to the construction industry. The Company has operations in over forty countries on six continents and has been a Berkshire Hathaway company since 2001. (NYSE: BRK-A, NYSE: BRK-B)
