Crescent Communities has started construction on a 296-unit mixed-use apartment community featuring 2,200 square feet of street level retail in Charlotte's Dilworth neighborhood.
The $55 million Crescent Dilworth sits adjacent to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway and the main campus of Carolinas Medical Center and brings residents a mix of modern luxuries and active lifestyle amenities in a combination not available anywhere else in Charlotte.
"Steps away from the area's parks, employers, shopping and dining, Crescent Dilworth will provide the lifestyle experience consumers seek today," said Ben Collins, vice president for Crescent Communities' multifamily group.
Catering to its unique location along the Greenway and the area's active population, Crescent Dilworth will feature a Charlotte B-cycle station, making it part of the largest urban bike sharing system in the Southeast. An on-site bicycle repair center and indoor and outdoor bike storage will cater to even the most avid cyclists. Those looking to keep their workout closer to home will appreciate the 3,500-square-foot athletic center featuring a CrossFit gym, interactive Fitness-on-Demand, and an outdoor yoga terrace.
"Crescent Dilworth will provide residents with everything they need to enjoy an active lifestyle through a mix of amenities and green space that they won't find anywhere else in Charlotte," said Collins.
For relaxation, residents will enjoy a seventh-floor terrace with bar, grill and outdoor fireplace. The indoor/outdoor clubroom transitions seamlessly to the pool area's 360-degree invisible-edge saltwater pool with a sun shelf for in-water lounging. A nearby courtyard features an outdoor kitchen, a large fire pit and outdoor seating overlooking the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.
Residents will find luxuries inside as well, with studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments in a variety of floor plans with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, washers and dryers, and walk-out patios in every apartment. Several deluxe, 2,600-square-foot apartments will feature Walnut flooring, marble bathrooms, custom closets and 215-square-foot private terraces with indoor and outdoor fireplaces.
Crescent has partnered with Charlotte-based Southern Apartment Group for the development of Crescent Dilworth. Balfour Beatty Construction has been selected as the general contractor and construction financing is being provided by JP Morgan Chase. Property management firm Greystar plans to begin pre-leasing at Crescent Dilworth by the end of next year.
The project design team includes architect BB+M Architecture, interiors by Vignette Interior Design, civil engineer and landscape architect LandDesign and conceptual design consultant Historical Concepts.
