- A significant proportion of regional social landlords (RSLs) have plans to upgrade the energy efficiency of their properties with upgrades starting in 1 to 2 years.
- The majority are aware of the Green Deal.
- There is equal interest in Fabric and Mechanical as a means of upgrading.
- There are a number of key advisors who RSLs will go to when deciding upgrade measures.
100 telephone interviews were held with RSL respondents who comprised Local Authority, Housing Associations and ALMOs. Companies selected are currently involved in a significant level of new build activity and were thus considered to be active. Interviews were conducted with those responsible for property maintenance. Roles were quite varied. Organisations surveyed had property portfolios of between 100 and 51,000 dwellings. Research was conducted during November 2012.
