Aggregate Industries US’ Facilities Receive NRMCA’s Commitment to Environmental Excellence Awards

Aggregate Industries US (AIUS), a Holcim Group company, announced today that its Waltham, Mass. and Belle Plaine, Minn. facilities have been selected as recipients of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association's (NRMCA) Commitment to Environmental Excellence Awards.

The Belle Plaine plant received top honours in the "less than 25,000 cubic yards of concrete produced" category while the Waltham plant received honourable mention in the "greater than 50,001 but less than 100,000 cubic yards of concrete produced" category. The award recognizes companies that set an outstanding example of environmentally sound management within the ready mixed concrete industry.

"We are extremely proud that two of our facilities received these merits," said Filiberto Ruiz, president and chief executive officer of Aggregate Industries US. "These awards affirm our corporate values and commitment to the environment in which we operate."

The AIUS plants were two of 15 facilities to receive awards decided on by a panel of judges based on eleven evaluation criteria. All plants receiving awards will be honoured during the awards luncheon at the NRMCA's ConcreteWorks & Board of Directors' Meeting in Las Vegas, Nev. on September 23, 2013. Additionally, winning facilities will be featured in an upcoming edition of Concrete Products magazine and are listed on the NRMCA website at www.nrmca.org.
